St. Gallen, 29 September 2016: a start-up resulting from the collaboration between the nursing home De Witte Meren in Mol, KU Leuven and VITO has won the prestigious European “Smart Ageing Challenge Prize”. The software that links cycling on an exercise bike to images from the familiar surroundings of seniors and to health parameters is already in use in 15 nursing homes in Belgium. This additional recognition opens up new opportunities in the European market, on which Activ84Health is now aiming for.
Activ84Health is a success story based on the research programme Sustainable Health and the valorisation policy of VITO. There are more start-ups in the pipeline. To be continued!
