Application deadline for Belgium/Luxemburg is 14 May 2018.

The world's largest cleantech business idea competition kicks off again, with VITO as the country lead for Belgium/Luxemburg. ClimateLaunchpad 2018 is now open for applications. Students, start-ups, entrepreneurs, researchers and employees dreaming of starting their own business are invited to submit their cleantech ideas. All entries are judged on their impact on climate change, their growth potential and on skills and enthusiasm. The most promising entries gain access to Climate-KIC’s Accelerator programme, geared at growing big cleantech ideas into strong businesses. The competition is now open for entries in 42 countries.

The competition

A two-day business boot camp (4-5 June 2018) and a series of focused coaching sessions prepare the participants for the country finals where they will pitch their business plan to a professional jury. The three finalists of each country will enter the Final in November in Edinburgh. In semi-finals 10 teams will be selected and gain access to Climate-KIC Accelerator, the real-life business school focused on developing and commercialising cleantech start-ups. The overall winner of the final also receives a cash prize of € 10 000, the runner up gets € 5 000 and the idea that comes in third place wins € 2 500.

The bootcamp is a great opportunity to learn more about how your research impacts society, climate and economy at the same time.

Climate launchpad was a real breakthough event for Faro 360.  The bootcamp is a fundamental pitch slidedeck that gets you to the essentials and purest definition of your business idea.  Faro is thankful to the Climate Launchpad team!

Koen Verrecht - Top 10 EU finalist for Belgium 2016

Our participation in CLP2017 was a very interesting experience. The contacts with the other participants were very useful to finally promote our own product in the best possible way. The guidance of the coaches has lead to our first place with FunMem at the Belgian CLP2017 final. This resulted in a number of valuable contacts that will help us to a concrete valorisation. CLP has given an enormous boost to the commercial path of FunMem.
