On June 1, 2021, VITO and the European Respiratory Cluster (eu.reca) hosted a webinar on opportunities for indoor air purification in the fight against airborne infections, such as SARS-CoV-2.
The panel of this webinar was a group of world experts. Prof. Dr. Erika Vlieghe (UZA), Dr. Marianne Stranger (VITO), Dr. Hannu Salmela (VTT Finland) and Prof. Dr. Giorgio Buonanno (University of Cassino) discussed sense and nonsense of healthy indoor air quality, the characteristics of airborne virus transmission, the different air purification techniques and their potential added value, compared to other measures. More than 100 (professional) participants followed the seminar and fed it with particularly interesting questions.
