Water scarcity is no longer a future risk but a present challenge across North-West Europe. At IFAT Munich, we invite you to be part of the solution. On 5 May 2026, we officially launch NEW WATER, an Interreg North-West Europe project that brings together utilities, industry, researchers and authorities to unlock new, climate-proof sources for drinking water.

Why attend the NEW WATER Launch Event?

  • Where tomorrow’s drinking water solutions take shape
Get a first look at 7 planned pilot projects that will pave the way for producing drinking water from wastewater, rainwater and polluted surface water, presented by the partners preparing their real-world implementation. Both decentralised systems and large-scale centralised production of potable water will be demonstrated.

  • Meet the people who make water reuse happen
Connect with water utilities, technology providers, policymakers and innovators during curated networking and speed-dating sessions.

  • Understand what we will implement
Learn how NEW WATER tackles the full picture: technology, regulation, economics, carbon footprint and public acceptance. You'll learn how our upcoming implementation handbook will support real-world deployment.

  • Position yourself at the forefront of water resilience
Be among the first to engage with a transnational initiative that is shaping the future of climateproof drinking water supply in Europe.

You can participate in the event free of charge! However, we'll charge a no show fee of € 50 to account for lost costs if you fail to give us a heads-up.
