Marie Curie fellow

Milica Velimirovic obtained a PhD degree in Applied biological science in 2013 from the University of Antwerp associated with the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (Belgium). Between 2013 and 2019 she held a post-doctoral position at Department of Environmental Geosciences, University of Vienna (Austria) where her work focused on the development of validated and standardized methods using field flow fractionation hyphenated to ICP-MS to support the implementation of the EC recommendation on nanomaterials. She is currently senior postdoctoral researcher (FWO) at the research group “Atomic and Mass Spectrometry” at the Department of Chemistry, Ghent University (Belgium) and VITO. Her main research interests concern the development of new mass spectrometry analytical strategies and methods to access and predict the health and environmental risks of nanomaterials including nanoplastics.
