Looking at things differently based upon a wide interest and expertise on a variety of sustainability topics and working environments, I’m involved in many different projects either together with external partners or with VITO colleagues: Water, Land Use, Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services, Biomass, Energy and much more. In these projects I like to challenge the status quo and look for impact of VITO research.

Bioengineer in tropical agriculture and forest management, driven by righteous indignation.
Coping strategies: humor—preferably situational humor pushed to absurdity.
A hard scientist in search of softer ways, yet not averse to playful provocation to challenge fixed ideas. Action researcher and systems thinker who wriggles into projects to make change together.
Give me the weirdos, misfits, and dreamers—that’s where I learn.
Lover of Mother Nature, alternative music, fungiphile/amateur etno-mycologist (don’t get me started…), indigenous wisdoms and other forms of knowledge from before “science”, homo ludens in good company.
