New Delhi, 12 February 2019: During the India EU-Water forum that takes place today in the Indian capital New Delhi a new memorandum of understanding was signed for the Clean Ganga Europe Desk in Brussels.
This memorandum between the India-EU Water Partnership, the European Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform, and the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and VITO reinforces the collaboration between European and Indian partners for the set up of initiatives for the large scale rejuvenation of the polluted Ganges River.
The Clean Ganga Europe Desk was started last year by VITO and the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and will now be reinforced with the experiences of the IEWP and the WSSTP. The Desk centralises all aspects relating to water management in companies and other institutions in Europe – information about technology, management, government policy, best practices – in order to pass this on to India in a structured and well-coordinated manner. In addition, this initiative allows us to lower the barriers to cooperation between companies from Europe and India. We are also opening doors to European industry in the field of water management.
