Agnes Bosmans, director Human Resources and Shared Services at VITO, signed the engagement declaration in Breda on Tuesday 18 February: "Only if you pass on knowledge, it can lead to a sustainable society ... "

With the signing of the partnership document, VITO is now a supporting partner of the chair 'Management Education for Sustainability' of the AMS and the professorship in Management Education for Sustainability of the Breda University of Applied Sciences.

Education can play a crucial role in securing sufficient sustainability intelligence among our current and future leaders in business and society as a whole; leaders who can take the lead in making the way we produce and consume more sustainable, as well as the way we organise ourselves. However, this does not happen by itself.

Breda University of Applied Sciences and Antwerp Management School have jointly established a Lectorate and Chair Management Education for Sustainability as of January 2020. Frans Melissen and Lars Moratis will take on this role and will focus on developing new insights, methods and good examples, both in terms of content and didactics, in order to ensure that education, particularly management education, makes an optimal contribution to our society's transition towards sustainability.

An inaugural address will take place in Antwerp on 19 May.
At the end of each year the professors will give feedback about the past year and the partnership is looking for a digital platform to exchange best practices.
