WellData: data space for prevention
Healthcare in Flanders and the Netherlands is under pressure due to an ageing population and an increasing number of chronically ill people. WellData (Data Space for Prevention), a cross-border European project made possible by European Union support, aims to address these problems by focusing on prevention and health promotion. The aim is to keep people healthier and reduce healthcare costs by developing technologies that support healthy lifestyles and prevent diseases.
Outcomes of WellData include the development of new technologies that enable the secure exchange of data on lifestyle, well-being and daily functioning between healthcare providers, companies and governments in the border region. This paves the way for future linkage to the European Health Data Space (EHDS), where health data is collected and shared centrally. For citizens, this means more control over their own health and the ability to make better-informed choices about their lifestyle.
Digital applications for a healthier society
Thanks to WellData, Flanders and the Netherlands can lead the way in developing digital applications that contribute to a healthier society, with the aim of easing the pressure on care and increasing citizens' quality of life.
WellData (Data Space for Prevention) is an Interreg Flanders-Netherlands project.
