Platform for Transformative Change - 4th workshop
“VRIJPLAATS is a place to think beyond existing structures. A space to experiment — and even to fail. A meeting ground for dialogue and encounter between students, educators, researchers, NGOs and others who want to make a difference.”
On 23 October the Platform for Transformative Change gathers at VRIJPLAATS in Gent to explore how learning spaces can become engines for societal transformation. We will look at how design thinking, co-creation and entrepreneurship can help generate practical responses to the big challenges of our time. Together we ask: how do you set up such a place? What difficulties arise, and how can they be addressed?
From there we turn to a concrete initiative: DOKano, a non-profit founded in 2019 that promotes environmental and climate awareness through education and recreation. Their work focuses on behavior change in Ghent and its waterways, offering a living example of transformative capacity in practice.
Finally, we open the floor to explore opportunities for collaboration. How can we support each other in creating and sustaining transformative spaces and projects? Our connection board will serve as a shared ground to build upon, helping us map synergies and shape new alliances.
