The inhabitants of East and West Flanders (Belgium) discover the savings potential of their home with the first scientific and free-of-charge energy audit tool!
GHENT, 23 January 2018 – How can the energy use of your home be optimized as much as possible? That is thé key question COZIE and EnergyVille/VITO provide an answer to with a Homefit energy report. The tool to apply for a Homefit report was introduced today in East and West Flanders and makes it possible to get a scientifically based renovation advice in 1-2-3, without any site visits. A Homefit report shows in a user-friendly way which renovation opportunities are most suitable for a building and how much the owner can save on his/her energy bill with it. Additionally, a Homefit is entirely free-of-charge and scientifically based. The launch took place today in East and West-Flanders, the other provinces follow in the course of 2018.
Belgium comprises a great number of existing buildings in need of a thorough energy renovation. Additionally, individual consumers are often looking themselves for an accurate renovation advice to save money on their energy bill. With Homefit, Cozie and EnergyVille/VITO provide an answer to these needs by supporting public and private stakeholders in the transition to a sustainable urban environment.
A personalized advice in only two steps
Asking for a Homefit only takes two steps: Based on the user-data an initial advice is developed which identifies the possible improvements of a home. Subsequently, the user can request an additional voluntary phone call with a Cozie Coach to further fine-tune this first advice into an entirely personalized advice. Furthermore, an immediate offer can also be requested to get an idea of the financial possibilities.
The tool is entirely free-of-charge and clusters all necessary information in one central location, making it possible to get to a scientifically based renovation advice without any site visits.
Unique in Belgium!
Energy audits are not new. However, most of them are based on static characteristics of a building and do not take into account the number of inhabitants or their behaviour. Homefit is the first and for the time being, the only energy audit tool which enables to perform a personalized energy audit based on scientific algorithms. Additionally the tool is available for everyone, customer of Cozie or not.

Launch in East and West Flanders
