S+T+ARTS4WATERII is thrilled to announce the selected artists for its innovative residencies aimed at exploring water sustainability through the integration of art, science, and technology. These residencies will take place across eight European countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia) focusing on port cities and their surrounding ecosystems.

S+T+ARTS4WATERII is thrilled to announce the selected artists for its innovative residencies aimed at exploring water sustainability through the integration of art, science, and technology. These residencies will take place across eight European countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, Croatia, and Slovenia) focusing on port cities and their surrounding ecosystems.

Under the coordination of VITO, S+T+ARTS4WATERII will realise 20 unique residencies where artists will collaborate with local communities, scientists, and technologists to address environmental and societal challenges related to water. The goal is to make coastal areas, ports, and waterways greener and more sustainable, showcasing the powerful impact of artistic innovation.

PLASTIQUE FANTASTIQUE

Selected for the Scheldt Valley National Park challenge, Plastique Fantastique (Marco Canevacci, Yena Young, Lucas Sere Peltzer) is known for their immersive spatial installations that merge art with reality. Their work invites the public into multisensory experiences, using air as their primary medium to challenge perceptions and delve into the hidden layers of our environment. More info

TERRITORIAL AGENCY

Chosen for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges challenge, Territorial Agency (John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog) combines architecture, art, and scientific research to advocate for environmental transformations in the Anthropocene, where the disastrous influence of humans is felt globally. Their work explores how urban environments can be redesigned in harmony with water ecosystems. More info

STIJN DEMEULENAERE

As a sound artist, Demeulenaere will engage with the challenge at the Port of Ostend, crafting installations that explore the relationship between sound, identity, and listening. Utilising field recordings and personal stories, his work interweaves the sonic histories of these landscapes to foster deeper environmental awareness. More info

HONORE D'O

Known for his playful and thought-provoking use of everyday materials, Honoré d’O will address the challenge at the Port of Brussels. His installations transform mundane objects into poetic compositions that encourage audience interaction, creating immersive environments where art and reality converge. More info
