Personal prevention app BIBOPP won a MyData Award in the ‘Technology’ category. MyData is an international organisation that is working towards fair and sustainable data use in a human-centric way.

A Belgian consortium of top scientists and patient representatives launches a pioneering patient survey utilising Personalised Data Pods to secure the patient’s data and to allow them to store and manage their own health information. The survey focuses on patients with TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura), a rare blood condition.

With the We Are ecosystem, VITO is helping to develop a radically new and different way of dealing with personal (health) data of citizens. This is done by means of an innovative technological component but also by the development of new applications, such as the online prevention platform BIBOPP. It is intended to give citizens confidence in how their privacy-sensitive data are used - and above all: by whom and why - and thus to ‘empower’ them in terms of their data and personal health.
