Air pollution poses a serious health threat, mainly in urban agglomerations. To support governments and industry at home and abroad in tackling the problem, VITO offers with ATMOSYS a complete package of model-based software tools and applications. These products are now presented on a brand new website: atmosys.vito.be.
The ATMOSYS tools and applications map air pollution sources down to street level and allow authorities to develop targeted and reasoned solutions - including for specific, challenging locations such as tunnel mouths or large industrial sites. In addition, the models are made available to experts including EIA experts through various channels. The entire model chain and its applications were presented in detail at a study day.
In addition to an overview of ATMOSYS services and specific tools, the website also includes a portfolio page where visitors are introduced to numerous solutions and advice on specific issues and challenges in Flanders and Europe.
