Digital Health for All (DigiH4A)

Status: Ongoing Companies Health

DigiH4A is an EU‑funded Interreg North Sea project (2024–2028) that brings together health authorities, healthcare actors, and SMEs across Europe to accelerate the adoption of digital health solutions, such as mobile health applications. By looking at sustainable reimbursement pathways and real‑world cost‑benefit evidence, the project helps health systems adopt digital health solutions.

Accelerating the Use of Digital Health Across Europe

DigiH4A (Digital Health for All) is an EU‑funded Interreg North Sea project running from September 2024 to March 2028, focused on accelerating the large‑scale adoption of digital health solutions in European healthcare systems. Although digital health tools such as mobile health applications have demonstrated clear potential, their uptake and scaling across Europe remains limited.

The project addresses why adoption is slow by focusing on two key barriers: the lack of sustainable reimbursement models and the limited availability of evaluation methodologies that accept real‑world cost‑benefit evidence that decision‑makers need to make informed choices. DigiH4A aims to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation.

Building Sustainable Models for Scalable Digital Health Solutions

DigiH4A brings together health authorities, healthcare providers, payers, research organisations and more than 200 SMEs across the North Sea region (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany).

The project focuses on digital solutions that support chronic care, prevention, early diagnosis and ageing populations, with the goal of reducing unnecessary hospital visits, easing pressure on healthcare systems and improving quality of life for patients.

VITO Supporting Preventive, Data‑Driven Healthcare Through Economic Insight

VITO supports the transition towards a more preventive, data‑driven healthcare system. Within the DigiH4A project, we contribute our combined expertise in health economics and digital health solutions. Building on experience from Flemish and EU‑funded initiatives such as We Are, WellData, and EMPOWERCARE, VITO helps translate economic and societal evidence into practical tools that support sustainable reimbursement and large‑scale adoption of digital health solutions.

DigiH4A (Digital Health for All) focuses on accelerating the large‑scale adoption of digital health solutions in European healthcare system.
