VITO named Company with the Biggest Heart by Belgian Red Cross Flanders

VITO, together with Linea 2000, has been named Company with the Biggest Heart by Belgian Red Cross Flanders in Geel. This award is given to companies that strongly motivated their employees over the past year to donate blood and plasma at the donor centre in Geel.

This recognition is part of the ‘Company with a Big Heart’ campaign, through which Belgian Red Cross Flanders encourages companies to actively support blood and plasma donation.

“To achieve our overall plasma target, companies are crucial partners.” says Vincent Verbeecke, spokesperson for Belgian Red Cross Flanders. “By definition, companies have a wide reach, and this collaboration is an important driver for increasing the number of plasma donations.”

With more than 50 plasma and blood donations as part of an initiative during VITO Day in September, VITO stood out as the company with the highest absolute number of donations. Linea 2000 received the award as the company where one in three employees donated blood or plasma over the past year.

CEO Inge Neven about the award

“In everything we do, VITO stands for sustainability and resilience, not only for companies and governments, but equally for people and for our society. Because true sustainability starts with human solidarity and strengthens what is most precious: our lives. During our annual VITO Day, we make that mission tangible. Our employees consciously choose to make a social contribution, and this is reflected, among other things, in a solidarity initiative where VITO employees donate blood and plasma in large numbers. This commitment makes us particularly proud and shows who we want to be as an organisation.”
