Dr. Miet Van Dael is researcher in the chemicaldepartment of VITO and is responsible for the evaluation of the economicfeasibility of emerging technologies using techno-economic assessments (TEA). Sheis also a research affiliate at the Hasselt and Antwerp University.
She holds a Ph.D. in applied economic sciences (2014) fromthe Hasselt University. In her PhD she elaborated on the techno-economicassessment of energy conversion parks. As a researcher her ambitions are tofurther integrate techno-economic assessments with an environmental and socialimpact, make the methodology spatially explicit and link it with the acceptanceof the assessed technologies. In doing so, her main fields of interest arebiorefineries and CCU technologies.
