EnzymASE studies Enzymes for Added Sustainability and Efficiency. The goal of this project is to construct a platform for companies with a strategic interest in biocatalysis.

A broad variety of industrially relevant enzymatically catalyzed reactions will be explored. The entire value chain is covered by the current industrial partners, including a production partner for the initial phase of industrial implementation at intermediate scale, a partner for large scale production and several application partners. VITO works on process development, optimization and intensification.

EnzymASE is funded by The Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) and supported by Catalisti, the spearhead cluster for chemistry and plastics.
