Europe is working very hard in its search for a different type of battery. After all, the West is far too dependent on battery technology from the East. The catch-up process has begun, but the backlog is still huge. On top of that, we still rely too much on expensive and scarce raw materials that we have to import for the production of batteries as well. The task is therefore twofold: the development of sustainable, reliable batteries that can store a large amount of alternative energy.
VITO and EnergyVille participate in various European projects, but is also puts itself on the map with its own research. It is developing new production processes and refining old processes to make them even more efficient and sustainable. This evolution is still ongoing and promises to speed up in the coming years. VITO is ready for that.
