Project intro
VITO developed an operational climate service for the global biodiversity community in the framework of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), part of the EU’s earth observation programme. The service, developed through co-creation with sector experts, supports conservation workers, researchers and policy makers to draft conservation plans in order to reduce biodiversity loss. Availability of bioclimate indicators for past and future and interactive applications allow biodiversity stakeholders to explore climate impacts on biodiversity or assess a region’s future climate suitability for endangered species.
